As threats and acts of violence targeting public officials continue to reshape the security landscape, organizations are investing more heavily in protective measures once considered uncommon.

In a recent KARE 11 report examining the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office’s security spending, Rozin Security President Michael Rozin provided perspective on how dramatically the environment has changed. Public records show the office spent approximately $513,000 on private security between November 2023 and September 2026. Rozin noted that while that level of spending would have been unusual just five years ago, today it reflects a broader shift in the security needs of public officials and government organizations.

The report highlights the growing importance of proactive security planning as threats become more frequent and organizations reassess how they protect public-facing leaders, employees and facilities.
