Client: Leading National Food Distributor

Industry: Supply Chain & Logistics

Objective:
A major North American food distributor—operating a vast network of 24/7 distribution centers—partnered with us after receiving credible threats from a domestic extremist group. The group was targeting multiple logistics facilities in Southern California with the intent to carry out a coordinated bombing on New Year’s Eve.

With thousands of employees, significant infrastructure, and essential supply chain operations at risk, the client required an urgent, coordinated security response to mitigate the threat and prevent major operational disruption.

Solutions:
Comprehensive Threat & Risk Assessment: We rapidly mobilized a specialized team to assess the full threat landscape—prioritizing vulnerabilities across high-volume distribution sites, mapping potential entry points, and identifying likely patterns of targeting.

Advanced Reporting Capabilities: Through our proprietary case management platform, TIPS®, we enabled real-time collaboration with federal law enforcement and intelligence partners. The platform’s secure, role-based access eliminated reliance on unsecured email chains—ensuring that sensitive threat indicators and protective actions were shared efficiently and securely.

Analytical Support: Our intelligence team worked closely with operations to surface previously unknown actors and risk indicators. Leveraging highly confidential sources and networks—including encrypted platforms like Signal—we provided actionable situational awareness that directly contributed to identifying and neutralizing the core individuals behind the attack planning.

Outcomes:
By acting swiftly and in coordination with law enforcement, the following outcomes were achieved:

  • Four suspects were apprehended by federal authorities before they could execute their coordinated attack.
  • The plot to bomb two logistics centers—the intended targets were US companies involved in interstate commerce—was fully disrupted by the FBI.
  • According to federal officials, the client avoided what would have been a “massive and horrific terror plot”, with the potential for catastrophic loss of life and severe operational disruption.
  • This type of targeted violence is often low-cost and high-impact—making early detection, integrated intelligence, and rapid response essential.
